Most states feature legislation that restricts reporting on aspects of the administration of justice. Salient enactments are as follows.

For legislative restrictions on the reporting of matters affecting or involving coronial inquiries see the ACT Evidence Act 1971, NSW Coroners Act 1980, NT Coroners Act 1993 and Evidence Act 1939, Qld Coroners Act 1958, Victorian Coroners Act 1985 and WA Coroners Act 1996.

For restrictions on the reporting of matters affecting or involving jurors see the NSW Jury Act 1977, Victorian Juries Act 2000, WA Juries Act 1957, ACT Juries Act 1967, NT Juries Act and Qld Juries Act 1995.
